I have been a secondary school teacher for over 15 years, working on how education systems can actually change - not just in theory, but in everyday school practice.
I was awarded the German Teacher Award (“Deutscher Lehrkräftepreis - Unterricht innovativ”, 2025).

What I work on

Developing learning formats that are practical, scalable and systemically effective.

About

Steffen Haschler – press photo

As a secondary school teacher, a member of the Chaos Computer Club, and co-founder of the non-profit sparks4school Foundation, I connect classroom practice with technology and system-level change. My work focuses on learning formats that are effective in real-world school contexts and can scale across schools, such as the BEAM program, which is already implemented nationally and internationally.

I live with my family in Heidelberg and teach at Englisches Institut. For the school operator KBW-Gruppe, I oversee the strategic and pedagogically sound use of artificial intelligence. At the same time, I scale these approaches beyond individual schools with Xplify. I am also involved in voluntary work with Chaos macht Schule and advise educational institutions at both national and international levels, including as a consultant for the United Nations.
